A highly productive and meaningful meeting was held with Mr Tariq Wazir, Consul General of Pakistan in Manchester, focusing on important initiatives aimed at supporting doctors, allied health professionals and communities in both the United Kingdom and Pakistan.
Two major projects were discussed in detail, with the potential to create meaningful opportunities for doctors and allied healthcare professionals, strengthen professional links between the two countries, and facilitate greater collaboration in healthcare, education, training and career development.
The meeting also focused extensively on supporting communities in Pakistan, particularly through sustainable healthcare initiatives and professional collaboration. Important discussions took place on how the Pakistani healthcare system can be further strengthened, how expertise and experience from healthcare professionals in the UK can be shared, and how meaningful partnerships can contribute to improving healthcare delivery and patient outcomes in Pakistan.
The nursing profession and allied health workforce were also an important part of the discussion, recognising their essential contribution to a strong and effective healthcare system. Opportunities for training, professional development, knowledge exchange and collaboration were explored at length.
