A warm and highly productive meeting was held with Mr Sardar Adnan Rasheed, Consul General of Pakistan in Birmingham, providing an excellent opportunity to discuss matters of mutual interest concerning Pakistan, the Pakistani diaspora and the wider professional and community network in the United Kingdom.

The discussions focused on strengthening collaboration between NODFA and the Pakistan Consulate, particularly in supporting Pakistani doctors, healthcare professionals and their families, while exploring ways in which the skills, experience and expertise of professionals based in the UK can contribute towards the development and wellbeing of communities in Pakistan.

A number of important areas were discussed, including healthcare, professional development, career opportunities, education, community support and closer engagement between Pakistani organisations in the UK and institutions in Pakistan. The importance of creating stronger links between professionals and communities was emphasised, with a shared vision of turning collective expertise and goodwill into practical initiatives.

The meeting also highlighted the value of unity and collaboration among Pakistani organisations, encouraging greater cooperation and joint efforts for the benefit of the wider community.

It was a positive and constructive engagement, reflecting a shared commitment to supporting doctors, empowering communities and strengthening the longstanding relationship between Pakistan and the United Kingdom.

NODFA remains committed to building meaningful partnerships and creating opportunities that deliver lasting benefits for doctors, healthcare professionals and communities on both sides.
