A significant milestone was achieved with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between NODFA and the Association of Irish Pakistani Physicians and Surgeons (AIPPS), marking the beginning of a stronger partnership between doctors and communities across the United Kingdom and Ireland.
The MoU was accompanied by an excellent and highly productive discussion focused on how both organisations can work together to support and empower doctors in both countries. Particular emphasis was placed on creating mutual opportunities for International Medical Graduates (IMGs) and strengthening support networks for doctors and their families within the wider community.
A wide range of important areas were discussed in depth, including healthcare, career progression, teaching and training, education, professional development and job opportunities. The meeting explored practical ways in which NODFA and AIPPS can collaborate to provide guidance, mentorship, networking opportunities and meaningful professional pathways for doctors at different stages of their careers.
Both organisations also recognised the importance of working together on community development and wellbeing, ensuring that the voices and concerns of doctors and their families are heard and addressed.
This MoU represents more than a formal agreement—it is a commitment to collaboration, mutual support and shared progress. By bringing together the experience, networks and expertise of both associations, NODFA and AIPPS aim to create new opportunities, support doctors in need and contribute positively to healthcare and communities in both countries.
